Julie A. Twyford

Julie Twyford has built her life around helping people. For 40 years she has dedicated her life to the law, and the pursuit of equality and fairness. Ms. Twyford has long been recognized as one of the premier trial lawyers in Spokane, and in Washington. Ms. Twyford’s practice exclusively focuses on family law and criminal law matters.

Ms. Twyford has extensive family law litigation experience. She has built a team of attorneys and staff to ensure her clients receive the results they deserve. She is intimately familiar with contested divorces, child custody disputes, and high asset and complex business divorces. As a skilled Spokane divorce attorney, she has secured thousands of positives outcomes for her clients over the years, and brings her expertise and experience to each and every case.

Ms. Twyford is also well known across Washington State for her experience and background in criminal defense. After first working in the public defender office in 1977 as an intern, she joined the office a few years later after passing the bar.  She worked at the public defender office until she became a partner at the well-respected local firm of Evans, Craven & Lackie. Ms. Twyford ultimately left the firm in 1990 to start her own practice of Twyford Law Office. Ms. Twyford was the past president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL), as well as the president of the local organization she established, SAFE (Spokane Attorneys For Equality). Ms. Twyford has handled numerous jury and non-jury trials with great success for her clients.

Ms. Twyford has been recognized as one of the Nation’s Top One Percent Lawyer, by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. She has a 10.0, a superb rating from Avvo.com. She was also recognized by Spokane Coeur D’Alene Living as one of the Top Lawyers in the area many years in a row, most recently in the 2019 edition.
