Mark Cassell is Twyford Law Office’s newest associate attorney. He practices primarily in the areas of criminal law and family law. Before joining Twyford Law Office, Mark gained extensive criminal defense experience while working in the Denver, CO area.
Mark believes in client-centered lawyering. He brings this view to all the cases he works on, creating a strong bond and relationship with each client. He believes that cases are a team effort between the firm and the client, where the client is the captain of the ship. He helps make sure each client is steered in the proper direction to obtain his/her goals.
Mark worked for the University of Denver Criminal Defense Clinic for almost two years where he explored his passion for indigent defense. There he represented clients in county and municipal court, conducted legal research, and drafted constitutional motions on behalf of his clients. Mark continued his interest in criminal defense by working for the Colorado State Public Defender as a certified intern in the summer of 2015. There he handled his own docket and represented clients in county court charged with misdemeanor and traffic offenses. In total, Mark gained extensive experience by handling over 100 cases and trying many jury trials.
Mark earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2016, where he graduated with Academic Distinction*. He graduated with the distinction of obtaining the highest grades in classes including Evidence, Evidence Practicum, and Family Law: The Divorce. Before earning his J.D., he graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He is admitted to the Washington State Bar as well as the local Spokane Bar.
